I just wanted to wish you a happy new year in different languages. One of the reasons I´m doing this is because I would like to encourage you to learn a new language as one of your new year´s resolutions.
My first piece of advice would be to enjoy the process of learning. Every single year most of the people I know promise theirselves that they are going to study English and almost everyone fails. Maybe the problem is that you are fed up with English, I mean, English is the language taught at school, the one your parents want you to know, the most useful, etc., but perhaps it´s not your favourite language, maybe you are looking forward to learning Quechua! and you don´t do it because you think it´s going to be worthless but it´s not! Sometimes, taking a rest from a language and starting learning a new one could be what you need in order to come back later and give another try to English.
The secong thing I want to tell you is to take it easy . Don´t set your goals too high or you will discourage yourself. Try to fix some easy objectives in short periods of time (weeks) and then a little more complex ones in medium periods of time (months). That way you will notice your progress, what will make you go on and on.
And finally pay no attention to what others say, even me! Let nobody tell you what you can´t do! you have to believe in yourself and that you are able to achieve whatever goal you aim for.
